Neoliberalism is a hustle. A con. In addition Pinochet pioneered disaster capitalism, which Thatcher copied by overruling the Treasury and insisting upon a hike in interest rates to 15%. Combined with North Sea oil surging, the 1979 Iranian Revolution and the Second major oil crisis, a global recession, massive increases in NHS nurses wages of 23%, temporarily buying off the coal and steel and rail and other powerful trade unions, and massive spending cuts during a recession (the opposite of what is required (in terms of countercyclical management), redistribution of wealth to the richer people via tax cuts, exacerbated by massive Value Added Taxes (VAT) increases, and withdrawal of subsidies, resulting in a 40% increase in the value of UK£ Sterling in one year, led to a 40% loss in competitiveness in manufacturing in just one year from which affected areas have never recovered. 

The cuts to the Royal Navy included withdrawal of ships based in remote areas like the Falklands. Like the crumbling Greek junta's last desperate attempt to stay in power through annexing Cyprus after staging a coup there against ("New  Calendarist")(state recognised ("World" (World Council of Churches modernist and Ecumenist) "Orthodox Christian" Archbishop Makarios's Cypriot Government, the Argentinian junta invaded and annexed an island entity it claimed, namely the Falklands.

Thatcher's victory, arousing jingoism and nostalgia, turned the catastrophic defeat (most likely to the SDP/Liberal Democrat Alliance (which had reached 51% in the opinion polls) in 1984 with a first-past-the-post landslide victory over left-wing extremist led Michael Foot's Labour Party in 1983.

The real winners of the Falklands War peace were the Argentine people. The real losers of the peace have been the UK, which has still failed to complete modernisation of its constitution, and is still dominated by a disaster capitalist neoliberal reactionary minority. Keir Starmer's pledge to make the second chamber into a representative one, implementing former Labour PM Gordon Brown's proposed reforms, should finally result in a representative legislative chamber in the UK for the first time in its history. This, like the introduction of direct elections to the American Senate, could result in it becoming the dominant chamber if the House of Commons remains unreformed on the First-past-the-post system, and even the Government becoming responsible to it, not the House of Commons.

It's essential that the current system of a minority being able to impose its will on a majority is ended. It will have taken over 200 years of attempts at reforms to get there, just in terms of parliamentary representation. With compulsory Swiss-style referenda and e-polling democratic triggers (Pirate party style) required next, towards updating. And finally, subjecting all this to filtering through a restored and updated pre-1066 True Orthodox Christian "Symphony of Powers Filter", finally destroying alien Hannovero-Norman Protestant elite rule.
